2009

Refugee Week 2009 is here and, as usual, there is a lot going on.

At the centre of it all are many really good curriculum-based initiatives.

We’ve also got school journeys linked to the books children are studying, new for 2009, an International Evening to celebrate the diversity that makes Woodberry Down the place it is.

And we are delighted that, in 2009, the school continues to build on the reputation we have gained for including issues around refugees in the curriculum – indeed making those issues at the core of the curriculum. This is because Refugee Week 2009 sees the school:

- publishing materials for teacher training institutions regarding inclusion of refugees

- launching a new scheme of work about life in Turkey-

What would it be like to live in Istanbul?
